Key takeaways
- The standard cabin-bag limit is length + width + height no more than 115 cm, not one fixed set of edges.
- Each standard cabin piece is limited to 7 kg in the current published table.
- Economy and Premium Economy list one piece; Suites, First and Business list two.
- An additional item above 80 cm total is counted as part of the standard cabin allowance.
Check this guide against your bag
Turn these limits into a real bag check
Enter your packed bag dimensions and compare them with the published airline rule. The checker will open with Singapore Airlines selected.
How the 115 cm rule works
Add the packed bag's length, width and height. A 55 x 35 x 25 cm case totals 115 cm; a 55 x 40 x 25 cm case totals 120 cm and exceeds the published linear limit. The order of the edges does not matter for addition, but every fixed wheel, handle and packed bulge must be represented in the outside measurements.
A linear limit allows several shapes with the same total, so CabinFit does not invent a 55 x 40 x 20 cm frame for Singapore Airlines. A rectangular fit checker is most reliable when an airline publishes three independent edge limits. Here, the transparent result is the sum plus the separate 7 kg check.
Piece count by cabin class
The airline currently lists one cabin piece for Economy and Premium Economy. Suites, First and Business list two pieces. Each piece must remain within 7 kg and 115 cm total. Two-piece permission does not mean one 14 kg case; the limits apply to each item.
The bag must also be stowed safely in the overhead compartment or under the seat. Published limits are necessary conditions, not a promise that any unusual shape can be accommodated on every aircraft.
How to measure for Singapore Airlines
Use a tape and luggage scale after packing. Record the actual outside edges in centimetres and add them before comparing weight and class entitlement.
- Measure the longest outside edge, then the other two perpendicular outside edges.
- Include wheels, handles, pockets and any soft section that expands naturally.
- Add all three numbers and keep the total at or below 115 cm for each standard piece.
- Weigh each piece separately and keep it at or below 7 kg.
- Confirm the class, operating carrier and current allowance in the booking before departure.
Additional item and codeshare checks
Singapore Airlines describes permitted additional items and says an item exceeding 80 cm when its three dimensions are added will be counted as part of the standard cabin-baggage allowance. Do not treat 'personal item' as an unlimited second bag; measure it and confirm that the item type is permitted by the current policy.
Codeshare flights can be operated by another airline with a fixed-edge frame, a different weight or a different piece count. The Singapore Airlines FAQ directs travellers to the relevant partner for codeshare cabin allowance. Check the operating carrier on each segment and apply its rule to that flight.

The current published maximum is 7 kg for each standard cabin-baggage piece.
The current table lists one standard cabin piece for Economy and Premium Economy, subject to 7 kg and 115 cm total dimensions.
The airline publishes a 115 cm total linear limit rather than three independent edge caps. Inventing fixed edges would misrepresent the rule.
